I won this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway。This book came to me at an interesting time, where I've been struggling with some food sensitivities for awhile, and I recently learned of some new food allergies including most grains and dairy。 I was interested in this book because I'm interested in a food first approach to health issues, and I was curious about the perspectives for Alzheimers prevention and dealing with mid-life brain fog。 The book is very well researched and provides enlighteni I won this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway。This book came to me at an interesting time, where I've been struggling with some food sensitivities for awhile, and I recently learned of some new food allergies including most grains and dairy。 I was interested in this book because I'm interested in a food first approach to health issues, and I was curious about the perspectives for Alzheimers prevention and dealing with mid-life brain fog。 The book is very well researched and provides enlightening information about misconceptions about the benefits of specific foods, based on overall research flaws, etc。 At the same time it was a bit frightening to learn that there may be risks with fruits and vegetables。 It was a bit daunting to learn that some of the things that you think would be really good for you may not be at all。 While the main focus area was benefits to brain health, it crosses into other overall diseases and how they are impacted by insulin resistance, histamine intolerance, etc。I understand the science presented in the book, and I have done elimination diets previously and they are a hard commitment。 The author does address some strategies for dealing with managing the diets presented (quiet Paleo, Keto and Carnivore), including how to manage social situations, restaurants and travel, although even with the strategies presented it can be nearly impossible to maintain these diets in those situations。 I can see myself using these mechanisms if faced with a specific health crisis and I can have limited social interactions in general。Overall, this is a very informative resource for anyone trying to explore using nutrition as a means to improve health ailments。 。。。more
